Model CD80 is a chlorine dioxide analyzer that can be installed on the panel and used at any time. It is designed to monitor free chlorine in drinking water, flushing water, cooling water, or other freshwater samples, with a standard range of 0.05-20ppm chlorine, or to use low range sensors to monitor 0.01-5.00ppm chlorine. CD80 complies with EPA method 334.0 for measuring drinking water.

CD80 adopts a plug and play design, integrating flow control devices, chlorine dioxide sensors, optional pH sensors, and T80 controllers, making it easy to install on PVC panels. Connect the sample and drainage pipe, connect the power supply and output, and it is ready for use. Factory calibration is completed through DPD comparison. Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) exists in solution as a gas and does not dissolve like other chlorinated compounds, therefore it is not affected by the pH value of the solution. The solubility of chlorine dioxide in water is approximately 10 times that of chlorine gas. Chlorine dioxide diffuses through the polytetrafluoroethylene membrane of the sensor and is reduced to chloride ions by adding electrons from the cathode. Then the silver in the anode is oxidized to silver chloride. The current generated by the electrons released from the gold cathode and the electrons received by the silver anode is proportional to the concentration of chlorine dioxide in the medium.

The temperature affects the ClO2 permeability of PTFE membrane, and increasing the temperature can increase the output of the sensor by about 4%. The chlorine flow sensor includes a temperature sensor that allows the T80 controller to perform automatic temperature compensation on the measured values

T80 is powered by 110-240 volts AC voltage or 24 volts DC voltage, allowing any parameter to be displayed in user-defined line, strip, or instrument style graphics. The standard configuration includes (2) 4-20mA output, (3) alarm relay, and MODBUSRTU.

The current type chlorine sensor is a flow sensor, and the small flow rate required by the sensor is 0.5/second. When it exceeds this value, the output is actually independent of the flow rate. The small flow rate required for CFD is 10 gal/hr, and the large flow rate is 80 gal/hr, with the sample discharged at atmospheric pressure.

The automatic cleaning option includes a solenoid operated spray cleaner that uses 30 psi of process water or air. An easily adjustable cleaning machine controls the cleaning cycle and duration.
